Epoq Launches the AI Optimizer: AI-Powered Analysis and Optimization of Search Results

This new feature analyzes the most relevant search terms on a daily basis, automatically identifies opportunities for optimization, and suggests specific improvements to deliver a more precise, efficient, and user-friendly search experience with significantly less manual effort.

Less manual effort, more relevance
Optimizing search results is one of the most important—but also one of the most time-consuming—tasks in e-commerce. In particular, search terms that return results but don’t generate clicks are often overlooked in day-to-day operations. This is exactly where the AI Optimizer comes in.
The new feature uses large AI language models (LLMs) to automatically identify relevant synonyms, expansions, and corrections for typos and to check whether these lead to better search results. The suggestions are displayed directly in Epoq Control Desk, Epoq’s central control interface, along with a detailed AI explanation, a preview of the modified results set, and a product preview. This enables store operators to make informed decisions and accept, reject, or customize suggestions with a single click.

AI Transparency and Full Control for Online Store Owners
For each search term analyzed, the AI Optimizer provides a specific optimization suggestion—such as synonyms, related terms, or corrections for typos—as well as a direct comparison of the number of results before and after optimization. A product preview shows which additional items would be made available, with the AI highlighting which products actually match the search intent. This allows store owners to make informed decisions and accept, reject, or customize suggestions with a single click.
This transparency extends to related areas: In the analysis, you can see at a glance whether entries for a search term already exist in the thesaurus, results management, or the AI Optimizer. In the thesaurus, a new column indicates which entries originally came from the AI Optimizer.

Outlook: Further expansions planned
In the future, the AI Optimizer will do more than just suggest synonyms and typos. Additional AI features are already in the works for the AI Optimizer. Result Management and Link Finder are already being used today to exclude irrelevant products from search results, improve the quality of search results, and identify relevant internal links. In the future, the AI Optimizer will not only suggest synonyms and typos, but will also identify irrelevant results and specifically recommend relevant internal links.
